Designing with Glue-on Bails

by Tom Triplett, Exclusively for Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®

STEP 1
Select a stone with a flat side that will accommodate the flat pad of the glue-on bail. Then select the glue-on bail to use.
STEP 2
Turn the bail until the flat side is showing with the small reservoirs. There will be a thin line of metal separating the reservoirs.
STEP 3
Add a line of glue following the metal line between the reservoirs using an instant glue like Loctite® 454 Gel. This is an instant glue and sets in about 5 seconds.
STEP 4
Line the stone up over the flat part of the bail and determine the best location for the bail to be glued onto the stone.
STEP 5
Set the stone down onto the bail and press down with a finger for about 5 seconds.
STEP 6
Attach the new pendant you just created to a finished chain or cord and the new piece of jewelry is ready to wear.
