Single-Strand Necklace with Swarovski Crystal Beads and Sterling Silver Beads and Chain

STEP 1
Place one 3mm light rose satin bicone crystal onto a headpin. Using a pair of round-nose, side-cutting pliers and chain-nose pliers, finish the end with a simple loop to create a 3mm light rose satin bicone crystal drop. Repeat to create a total of four.

Repeat to create five 4mm light rose bicone crystal drops using one headpin and one 4mm light rose bicone crystal.

Repeat to create three 3mm light rose AB bicone crystal drops using one headpin and one 3mm light rose AB bicone crystal.

Repeat to create four 3mm rose bicone crystal drops using one headpin and one 3mm rose bicone crystal.

Repeat to create five 3mm crystal AB bicone crystal drops using one headpin and one 3mm crystal AB bicone crystal.

Creating the Focal Piece

STEP 2
Using side-cutting pliers, cut ten lengths of sterling silver 3.5mm round link chain: one 3/4 inch length, two 2 inch lengths, three 1-1/2 inch lengths and four 1-3/4 inch lengths.

Cut nine lengths of sterling silver 1mm cable chain: five 1-1/2 inch lengths and four 1-3/4 inch lengths.

Cut six lengths of sterling silver 1.6mm cable chain: five 1-1/4 inch lengths and one 2-inch length.
STEP 3
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 20.5-gauge 4mm jumpring. Pass the open ring through the last link on one end of the 3/4 inch (7 links) length of 3.5mm round link chain and through the first loop on the sterling silver pendant. Close the jumpring. Attach the other end of the chain to the second loop on the pendant using a 4mm 20.5-gauge jumpring. Drape the chain on the back of the pendant.
STEP 4
Open a 4mm 20.5-gauge jumpring. Pass the open ring through the first link on one end of the 1-3/4 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain, the first link on one end of the 1-1/2 inch length of 1mm cable chain and the first jumpring attached to the pendant from Step 3. Close the jumpring.

Repeat Step 4 to attach two lengths of chain to the second jumpring attached to the pendant from Step 3.
STEP 5
Continue attaching the following lengths of chain to the links on the 3/4 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain attached to the pendant using a 20.5-gauge 4mm jumpring:
  • One 1-1/4 inch length of 1.6mm cable chain and a 1-1/2 inch length of 1mm cable chain to the first link
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of 1mm cable chain and a 1-3/4 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain to the second link
  • One 1-1/4 inch length of 1.6mm cable chain and a 1-3/4 inch length of 1mm cable chain to the third link
  • One 2 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain to the fourth link
  • One 1-1/4 inch length of 1.6mm cable chain, 1-1/2 inch length of 1mm cable chain and a 1-1/2 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain to the fourth link
  • One 2 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain and a 2-inch length of 1.6mm cable chain to the fourth link
  • One 1-1/4 inch length of 1.6mm cable chain and a 1-3/4 inch length of 1mm cable chain to the fifth link
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of 3.5mm round link chain to the sixth link
  • One 1-1/4 inch length of 1.6mm cable chain and a 1-1/4 inch length of 1mm cable chain to the seventh link
STEP 6
Open the loop on one 4mm light rose crystal drop and pass the open loop through the last link on the 2-inch length of 3.5mm round link chain. Continue adding one 4mm light rose crystal drop to the last link of different strands of 3.5mm round link chain until you have used all five.
STEP 7
Continue adding light rose satin, light rose AB, rose and crystal AB 3mm crystal drops in a random pattern at different links on the dangle chains attached to the pendant until you have used all the remaining drops.

First Half of the Necklace

STEP 8
Open a 4mm 19-gauge jumpring and pass it through the loop on one half of the clasp. Close the jumpring. Repeat to connect a jumpring to the other half of the clasp.

Repeat to attach a 4mm 19-gauge jumpring to each of the two loops on the pendant.
STEP 9
Using the side-cutting pliers, cut a 13-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire: one crimp bead, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and the jumpring attached to the clasp in Step 8. Loop the beading wire back through the crimp bead. The French wire should be passing over the jumpring in a nicely curved tube. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jumpring--leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using side-cutting pliers, trim the excess wire from the short end of Accu-Flex®.
STEP 10
String onto the beading wire one of each of the following:
  • 6mm light rose satin bicone crystal
  • 6mm crystal AB rondelle crystal
  • 6mm light rose round crystal
  • 4.5x3mm sterling silver corrugated saucer
  • 6mm light rose round crystal
  • 5mm sterling silver round bead
  • 6mm crystal AB bicone crystal
  • 4.5x3mm sterling silver corrugated saucer
  • 6mm light rose satin bicone crystal
  • 5mm sterling silver round bead
  • 6mm light rose round crystal
  • 6mm crystal AB rondelle crystal
  • 6mm light rose satin bicone crystal
  • 4.5x3mm sterling silver corrugated saucer
  • 6mm crystal AB bicone crystal
  • 6mm light rose round crystal
  • 5mm sterling silver round bead
  • 6mm crystal AB rondelle crystal
  • 4.5x3mm sterling silver corrugated saucer

STEP 11
Continue stringing one of each of the following:

  • 6mm light rose satin bicone crystal

STEP 12
String on one crimp bead and a 1/2 inch piece of French wire. Pass the beading wire through the jumpring on the first loop of the pendant then pull the wire snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the jumpring and there is no slack in the beading wire. Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the crimp (optional). Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using side-cutting pliers, trim excess wire from the end.
STEP 13
Using chain-nose pliers, or the front notch on a pair of crimping pliers, close a crimp cover over the crimp tube.
STEP 14
Repeat Step 9 to attach the wire to the other half of the clasp. Follow Step 10 to add beads to the first half of the strand.
STEP 15
Continue stringing one of each of the following:
  • 9x7mm twisted wire teardrop sterling silver bead
  • 6mm light rose round crystal
  • 4.5x3mm sterling silver corrugated saucer

  • 4.5x3mm sterling silver corrugated saucer

STEP 16
Repeat Steps 12 and 13 to attach the second strand to the second jumpring on the pendant.
STEP 17
Slide a crimp cover over a crimped crimp bead, close to the pendant. Using the front notch on the crimping pliers, gently compress the crimp cover closed, concealing the crimp bead for a professional finish. Repeat to conceal the crimped crimp bead on the other side of the pendant.
