Double-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Glass Beads and Organza Ribbon

Necklace

STEP 1
Using side-cutting pliers, cut two 5-inch lengths of 22-gauge gold Zebra Wire.
STEP 2
Using round-nose pliers and chain-nose pliers form a simple loop on one end of one wire cut in Step 1, creating an eyepin. Repeat to create a second eyepin with the second length of wire.
STEP 3
Using scissors, cut two lengths of gold organza ribbon: one 50-inch length and one 58-inch length.
STEP 4
Bring the end of the two lengths of ribbon together. Pass the ends of the ribbons though the loop on one of the 5-inch eyepins. Tie the ribbons using an overhand knot to hold the ribbons in place. Place a small amount of adhesive on the knot.

First Strand

STEP 5
Thread onto the end of the 50-inch length of ribbon one beading needle.
STEP 6
Measure 1-1/2 inches from the first knot (next to the eyepin). Tie an overhand knot on the ribbon. String onto the ribbon one antiqued gold floral rondelle, one green twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle. Tie an overhand knot to hold the beads in place on the ribbon.
STEP 7
Continue to string on the following beads, leaving 1-1/2 inches of ribbon in between each set:
  • One 4mm gold-plated round bead, one white flat round glass bead and one 4mm gold-plated round bead
  • One 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap, one blue rondelle glass bead and one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap
  • One antiqued gold floral rondelle, one green twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle
  • One 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap, one gold rondelle glass bead and one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap
  • One antiqued gold floral rondelle, one blue twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle
  • One 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap, one white rondelle glass bead and one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap
  • One 4mm gold-plated round bead, one gold flat round glass bead and one 4mm gold-plated round bead
  • One antiqued gold floral rondelle, one white twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle
Remove the needle then set the strand to the side to attach to the second eyepin later.

Second Strand

STEP 8
Thread onto the end of the 58-inch length of ribbon one beading needle.
STEP 9
Measure 2 inches from the first knot (next to the eyepin). Tie an overhand knot on the ribbon. String onto the ribbon one 4mm gold-plated round bead, one blue flat round glass bead and one 4mm gold-plated round bead. Tie an overhand knot to hold the beads in place on the ribbon.
STEP 10
Continue to string on the following beads, leaving 2 inches of ribbon in between each set:
  • One antiqued gold floral rondelle, one gold twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle
  • One 4mm gold-plated round bead, one green flat round glass bead and one 4mm gold-plated round bead
  • One 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap, one gold rondelle glass bead and one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap
  • One antiqued gold floral rondelle, one white twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle
  • One 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap, one green rondelle glass bead and one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap
  • One 4mm gold-plated round bead, one gold flat round glass bead and one 4mm gold-plated round bead
  • One antiqued gold floral rondelle, one blue twisted oval glass bead and one antiqued gold floral rondelle
  • One 4mm gold-plated round bead, one green flat round glass bead and one 4mm gold-plated round bead
Remove the needle.

Finishing the Ends

STEP 11
Pass both strands of ribbon through the loop on the second 5-inch eyepin. Placing the first strand 1-1/2 inches from the last knot and the second strand 2 inches from the last knot, tie both strands of ribbon in an overhand knot to secure the ribbons in place. Place a small amount of adhesive on the knot.
STEP 12
String onto one eyepin, one gold-plated cone and one 4mm gold-plated round bead. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and side-cutting pliers, form a wrapped loop on the top of the bead to secure it in place.

Repeat on the other end of the necklace.
STEP 13
String one 4mm gold-plated round bead onto a 1-inch eyepin. Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a 4mm gold-plated round beading link. Repeat to create a total of two 4mm gold-plated round beading links.
STEP 14
Using one pair of chain-nose pliers, open a loop on a 4mm gold-plated round beading link. Pass the open loop through a wrapped loop on top of one of the bead cones. Close the loop. Open the opposite loop on the 4mm gold-plated round beading link. Pass the loop through the loop on the toggle portion of the clasp. Close the loop.
STEP 15
Repeat Step 14 to attach the opposite bead cone to the second portion of the clasp.

Earrings

STEP 1
String one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap, one 15mm green glass round bead, and one 8mm gold-plated pewter bead cap onto a 2-inch headpin. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a green glass bead drop. Repeat to create two green glass bead drops.
STEP 2
Place one 4mm gold-plated round bead onto a 1-inch eyepin. Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire to create a 4mm gold-plated round beading link. Repeat to create two.
STEP 3
Using scissors, cut two 8-inch lengths of gold organza ribbon.
STEP 4
Pass a 13mm green glass round bead onto a 1-inch eyepin. Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire. Place the bead in the center of the eyepin then bend both ends of the wire up so the loops meet and the wire is formed into a triangular shape. Overlap the loops on both ends of the eyepin above the glass bead.
STEP 5
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, open one loop on a 4mm gold-plated round beading link. Pass the loop through the loop on an earwire. Gently close the loop. Open the loop on the opposite side of the a 4mm gold-plated round beading link and pass it through the overlapping loops on the eyepin holding the 13mm green glass round bead from Step 4. Close the loop.
STEP 6
Thread onto the end of one 8-inch length of ribbon one beading needle.
STEP 7
Pass the ribbon through the hole on the 13mm green glass round bead from Step 4. Place the bead in the center of the ribbon. Pass the ends of the ribbons through the loop on the green glass bead drop created in Step 1. Tie the ends of the ribbon using two square knots to hold the bead drop in place.
STEP 8
Repeat Steps 4 - 7 to create the second earring.
