Alundum stone is used to clean and finish enamel edges after firing. 220 grit is ideal for final grinding of enameling projects. You must work wet—either with running water or water in a bowl—when using an alundum stone. The water helps remove the aluminum oxide residue created during the process and prevents you from inadvertently grinding the oxide into your glass surface.
