Ready-to-wear stretch bracelet features polished shungite beads. Shungite is a non-crystalline mineraloid that contains a large amount of carbon as well as fullerenes, which are antioxidants. Once found only in the Karelia area of Russia, other sources include Austria and India. It has traditionally been used to heal, purify water and protect the body from electromagnetic radiation--hence its use as a cell phone accessory. According to metaphysical beliefs, shungite (or tulikivi stone) is also believed to deflect bad luck and amplify mental energies. Black carbon residue may rub off of stone over time.

Through normal wear, the soft nature of Shungite shine and luster will become matte over time. We recommend adding an artist fixative to the beads to protect the surface from wear.
