Like the canvas of an abstract artist, the dark green and reddish brown patterns found in this type of spotted serpentine have a painted look that pops against a golden background, and is enhanced by a shiny polish. Historically, verdite was used primarily for large sculptural art. Now it is available to the beading and jewelry industry. Major deposits found in South Africa. Colors, shapes and sizes may vary in each lot.
