Diorite is an igneous silica-based rock, cousin to obsidian and lava stone, formed by the slow, underground cooling of magma. It displays mottled patterns of black and white, much like a Holstein cow. Diorite may contain scattered amounts of quartz, olivine, zircon, apatite,magnetite and other gemstone materials. This material has been used for thousands of years for construction, statuary and other sculpture. Package contains approximately 20 beads.
