I would like to know the proper way to string pearls.
- Gracia
The classic way to string pearls is on silk thread with knots between each pearl. There are several ways to knot pearls: the single strand knotting technique done with The Bead Knotter™, the Japanese knotting method and the double-strand knotting technique used in the ''Endless Necklace''. Tip: Be sure to gently stretch your thread in preparation for knotting--it will help keep the knots and pearls neatly in place.
For strung pearl designs that incorporate crystal or metal accents, choose Silkon® nylon thread to avoid fraying from sharp-edged accent beads. There are many other stringing materials to choose from. Check the ''Types and Sizes of Beading Thread and Stringing Material'' Chart for a general overview of threads, thread sizes and recommended uses for each thread type.
