Single-Strand Carnelian Necklace and Earrings with Faceted Carnelian Beads and Antique Gold-Plated and Gold-Finished Bead Caps and Findings

Cut the following:

• One 24-inch length of Accu-Flex® 49-strand 0.014-inch diameter clear professional-quality beading wire
• Two 3-inch lengths of antiqued gold-plated 5.5mm flat round diamond-cutout chain

Using a 6mm 18-gauge antiqued gold-plated round jump ring, attach one half of a toggle clasp to one of the 3-inch lengths of chain.

Repeat for the other 3-inch length of chain.

String onto the beading wire: one 2mm sterling silver heavy wall crimp and one Accu-Guard™ 4mm antiqued gold-plated wire guard. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard, leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp, then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a 4mm antiqued gold-plated crimp cover.

String the following onto the beading wire:

• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 8mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap

Repeat three times for a total of four sets of this pattern.

String on the following:

• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 6mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 8mm carnelian faceted round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap

String on the following (Pattern A)

• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 10mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 8mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 6mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 8mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap

Next, string on the following pattern (Pattern B)

• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 4.5x3mm antiqued brass-finished star bead cap
• One 8mm antiqued gold-finished flower bead cap
• One 6mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 8mm antiqued gold-finished flower bead cap
• One 4.5x3mm antiqued brass-finished star bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead

Using the patterns in Steps 6 and 7 above, string on the beads in the following order:

• Pattern A
• Pattern B
• Pattern A
• Pattern B
• Pattern A

String the following onto the beading wire:

• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 8mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 6mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead

String the following onto the beading wire:

• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 8mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 2mm carnelian round bead

Repeat three times for a total of four sets of this pattern.

Crimp the end of the beading wire as in Step 3.

Attach one of the 3-inch lengths of chain to the Accu-Guard wire guard at one end of the beaded strand. Then attach the other 3-inch length of chain to the Accu-Guard wire guard at the other end of the beaded strand.

String the following onto a 4-inch 21-gauge antiqued gold-plated head pin:

• One 4.5x3mm antiqued brass-finished star bead cap
• One 8mm antiqued gold-finished flower bead cap
• One 6mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 8mm antiqued gold-finished flower bead cap
• One 4.5x3mm antiqued brass-finished star bead cap

Finish the head pin with a simple loop.

String the following onto a 1-inch 21-gauge antique brass-plated eye pin:

• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap
• One 6mm carnelian faceted round bead  
• One 3x1mm antiqued gold-plated ribbed round bead cap

Finish the eye pin with a simple loop.

Using a 6mm 18-gauge antiqued gold-plated round jump ring, attach the drop created in Steps 1 and 2 to the link created in Steps 3 and 4.

Using a 4mm round jump ring, attach the opposite end of the link to a TierraCast® antique brass-plated lotus earstud. Then attach a 5.5x5mm antique gold-plated barrel earnut.

Repeat Steps 1 – 6 for the second earring.
