Instructions
Cut one 60-inch length of Berkley® FireLine® high-modulus 0.15mm diameter 6-pound test polyethylene thread,
Thread a needle onto one end, leaving a 6-inch tail.
String four Miyuki #11 light daffodil rocaille seed beads onto the thread. Pass through all four beads again, then stitch up through two beads and pull tight to form a small loop for the ear wire.
Pick up one Miyuki #11 clear silver-lined rocaille seed bead, one light daffodil rocaille seed bead, one 24Kt gold-plated light rocaille seed bead and one light daffodil rocaille seed bead. Slide the beads down to the loop, then pass the needle back through the gold and adjacent daffodil bead to exit through the gold bead, forming a second loop.
Begin right-angle weave (RAW): pick up one daffodil seed bead, one gold-plated seed bead and one daffodil seed bead. Pass the needle down through the adjacent gold bead from the previous unit, then up through the next daffodil bead to return to the top. Repeat to create a total of 14 RAW units.
To form the first branch, pick up three daffodil seed beads. Pass through all three beads to form a loop, then add one gold-plated seed bead and pass back through the last daffodil bead, the gold bead and the next daffodil bead to secure.
Pick up one daffodil seed bead and one gold-plated seed bead. Slide into place, skip the gold bead and pass through two adjacent daffodil beads at the base. Pass through the gold bead to position for the next branch.
Continue forming branches along the RAW base using the same technique.
For larger branches, pick up two daffodil seed beads, one gold-plated seed bead and one silver-lined crystal clear seed bead. Slide into place, skip the last bead and pass back through the remaining beads. Anchor through the center bead and continue building branches, increasing for 6–7 branch sets, then decreasing as you return toward the loop.
Weave the thread back through multiple beads, including the loop, to secure. Tie off with a small knot, trim excess thread and tuck the ends into nearby beads.
Open the loop of one 15mm 21-gauge sterling silver fishhook ear wire. Attach it to the beaded loop and close securely.
Repeat Steps 1 - 11 to complete the second earring.
