Instructions
Cut six 6-foot lengths of 0.5mm variegated hemp cord.
Gather the lengths of cord together and tie an overhand knot at one end, leaving a tail approximately 3 inches.
Separate the cords into pairs. Use the basic three-strand braiding technique, treating each pair as one cord.
When the length of the cords has been braided, secure with an overhand knot, leaving a tail.
Cut a 1-foot length of FireLine thread and add a wide-eye needle. Leaving a 4-inch tail, add a stop bead.
Pick up a pip bead. Pass through a montee, pick up another pip then pass back through the montee. Tighten the thread to bring the pips snug against the montee.
Repeat this process to add petals around the montee, changing the montee hole used as needed.
Pass through all the pip beads again, exiting near the tail.
Remove the stop bead from the thread and tie a small knot to secure.
Cut a 10-inch length of thread and add a needle.
String and center the montee of a flower. If desired, add an acrylic leaf charm.
Hold the flower against the braid at the desired location along the braid. Tightly wrap the thread around and through the braid then tie to secure.
Repeat Steps 3 - 7 to add your desired number of flowers and leaves.
Cut a 6-foot length of Fireline thread and add a beading needle.
Pass the needle through the center of the braid, pulling the thread until there is a 6-inch tail. Tightly tie the tail and the working thread to secure the end within the braid.
Pass through the center of the braid, skip one to two crossed sections then pass back through the braid.
Pick up a 3mm round, skip a crossed section then bass back through the braid.
Skip a crossed section then pass back through the braid.
Repeat to add beads along the length of the braid.
Tie a knot around a crossed section to secure the thread then trim any excess.

Pass through all the pip beads again, exiting near the tail.
Remove the stop bead from the thread and tie a small knot to secure.
Repeat Steps 1 - 3 to create a second flower.
Use a small amount of adhesive to secure the back of each flower to the flat pad of an earstud.
