- Ear wire, cubic zirconia and sterling silver, clear, 17mm leverback with 1.5mm faceted round and closed loop
- Bead, amethyst (natural), 4mm faceted round, B grade, Mohs hardness 7
- Inlay chip, amethyst (natural), mini undrilled chip, Mohs hardness 7
- Bail, Aanraku®, glue-on, silver-plated "pewter" (zinc-based alloy), 16x5.5mm with 9x5.5mm leaf flat base
- Bead tip, gold-plated brass, 4x2.5mm side clamp-on with closed loop
- Sheet, brass, 6x2-1/2 inch single-sided rectangle with embossed floral pattern, 24 gauge
- Cupchain, glass rhinestone and silver-plated brass, clear, 2mm round
- Jump ring, gold-plated brass, 5.5mm round, 3.5mm inside diameter, 18 gauge
- Adhesive, Devcon® 5 Minute® Epoxy, 2-part
- Chain, silver-plated brass, 1.5mm faceted ball, 18 inches with 1-inch extender chain and lobster claw clasp
- Eye pin, silver-plated brass, 1/2 inches, 24 gauge
- Jump ring, gold-plated brass, 6mm round, 4.2mm inside diameter, 18 gauge
- Jump ring, gold-plated brass, 3mm round, 1.7mm inside diameter, 22 gauge
Instructions
Necklace Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- 1.5mm ball chain
- Two 5-ball lengths
- One 6-ball length
- Four 12-ball lengths
- Two 17-ball lengths (using the finished ends of the chain)
- Cupchain
- Two 9-cup lengths
- Two 22-cup lengths
- One 2x1-inch length of 24-gauge brass sheet
Step 2
Mix a small amount of Devcon® 5-Minute® Epoxy according to manufacturers instructions. Apply a small amount of epoxy to the back of one 22-cup length of cupchain. Press the length of cupchain to one long edge of the 2x1-inch rectangle sheet.
Repeat to glue the remaining lengths of cupchain to the brass sheet to create a frame.
Step 3
Apply a small amount of Devcon to the pad on one leaf bail. Press the pad of the bail to the center of one of the short edges of the brass sheet.
Apply a layer of Devcon to the inside of the frame on the brass sheet. Using amethyst inlay chips, add chips to the center of the brass sheet until desired.
Set aside to cure.
Step 4
String one amethyst 4mm round onto an eye pin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a total of 16 amethyst links.
Step 5
Attach bead tips to each end of each of the lengths of chain.
Step 6
Attach the following, in order, using 4mm jump rings:
- One 17-ball length of chain
- Two amethyst links
- One 12-ball length of chain
- Three amethyst links
- One 12-ball length of chain
- Two amethyst links
- One 5-ball length
- One amethyst link
Step 7
Continue to attach the 6-ball length of chain to the previous amethyst link using one jump ring then string the amethyst chip focal onto the chain.
Repeat Step 6 in the opposite direction to complete the necklace.
Earring Instructions
Step 1
Cut the following:
- Cupchain
- Four 6-cup lengths
- Four 17-cupl lengths
- One 1-1/2 x 5/8 inch length of 24-gauge brass sheet
Step 2
Mix a small amount of Devcon 5-Minute Epoxy according to manufacturers instructions. Apply a small amount of epoxy to the back of one 17-cup length of cupchain. Press the length of cupchain to one long edge of the rectangle sheet.
Repeat to glue the remaining 17-cup length and two 6-cup lengths of cupchain to the brass sheet to create a frame.
Step 3
Apply a small amount of Devcon to the pad on one leaf bail. Press the pad of the bail to the center of one of the short edges of the brass sheet.
Apply a layer of Devcon to the inside of the frame on the brass sheet. Using amethyst inlay chips, add chips to the center of the brass sheet until desired.
Set aside to cure.
Step 4
String one amethyst 4mm round onto an eye pin then form a simple loop. Repeat to create a second link.
Step 5
Pass one 4mm jump ring through both amethyst links then close.
Using 6mm jump rings, attach one end of the two-link length to the amethyst chip focal and the other end of the links to an ear wire.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 2 - 5 to create a second earring.
