Instructions
Warp a loom using twelve warp threads (one more warp thread than the width in seed beads). When warping the outer thread on one side, string five 14x7.5mm 2-strand links onto the thread.
For extra security, triple the thread on the outer two warp threads.
Tip: View our ''How to Set Up a Beading Loom'' how-to video and illustrated instructions for more information.
Thread a beading needle, doubling the thread. Pull one thread end to create a tail that is approximately five inches. Temporarily tie the tail to the outer warp thread (on the opposite warp from where the links are strung).
Note: It may be necessary to cut additional lengths of thread later in the design. If there are 6 inches or less of thread remaining, weave the remainder through adjacent beads to secure. Start a new length of thread in the same way--passing through several beads and exiting from the point where you left off.
The diamond pattern used in this design consists of a repeating pattern of ten rows of seed beads:
Begin the loomwork by picking up the seed beads for row 6. Place the beading needle under the warp threads and position the seed beads between the warps using your fingers. Pass the needle back through the seed beads but going over the top of the warps, securing the seed beads in place. Pull the thread taut after each row.
Referencing the pattern in Step 3, continue to bead rows 7 - 10.
Repeat rows 1 - 10, creating a full diamond.
Repeat rows 1 - 4.
Pick up row 5, leaving off the last yellow seed bead. Position the first link on the outer warp thread so the loop is where the last yellow seed bead of the row should be.
Repeat rows 6 - 9.
Repeat row 10, leaving off the last yellow seed bead for the second loop of the link.
Repeat Step 7 four more times until all five links have been beaded around.
Repeat rows 1 - 10 then repeat rows 1 - 8.
Pass the beading needle through 1 - 2 inches of adjacent seed beads to secure the thread then trim excess.
Thread the needle onto the tail from Step 2 then thread the needle through 2 - 3 inches of seed beads to secure. Trim excess thread.
Carefully remove the warp threads from one end of the loom. Secure the end of the loomwork by tying each warp thread to the next one until all of the threads are knotted. Trim excess thread then apply E6000® Fray Lock™ to the threads.
Slide an end bar onto the last row of seed beads then close the end of the end bar to secure.
Repeat Steps 11 and 12 on the opposite end.
String one bee bead onto a head pin then form a wrapped loop. Repeat to create a total of three bee drops. Attach the bee drops to the first, third and fifth links using oval jump rings.
Use a round jump ring to attach one dragonfly charm to one of the two remaining links.
Attach an oval jump ring to one ladybug charm then use a round jump ring to attach it to the remaining link.
Using oval jump rings, create an extender chain 9-jump rings long. Attach one end of the chain to one end bar then attach the opposite end to one half of the button clasp.
Repeat on the opposite end to complete the bracelet.
