Instructions
Cut an 84-inch length (7 feet) of Nymo® size O white nylon thread.
String on six Dyna-Mites™ #11 translucent inside dyed color red round seed beads, leaving a tail of approximately three inches.
Thread the needle back through the first three seed beads, then back through the next three seed beads. Pull the thread so that the first three seed beads lie on top of the next three seed beads. Pull the thread up through the first three seed beads and pull it snug.
String on one Dyna-Mites #11 translucent inside dyed color red round seed bead and two Dyna-Mites #11 transparent clear round seed beads. Thread the needle into the opposite end of the three seed beads to create a loop. Pull the loop tight.
String on three red seed beads and pull the thread through the last three beads. Remember to insert the needle on the opposite end from where your thread is coming out.
Thread the needle back through the beads you just added.
Add three more red beads, then finish the row by adding six rows of clear beads. This will be the starting strip from which the other rows will descend: three rows of 11 beads.
Insert the needle two beads to the left of one side, then go back one bead to the right to start your first strand of beaded fringe.
String each strand using the pattern below in order to create the heart design.
Skipping the last bead you added on the fringe, go up all the other beads on the strand. Then thread the needle up through the first bead in the row of three. Then thread the needle down through the next bead to start Row 2 of the fringe. Repeat these steps with each row.
Create the top of the earring using the decreasing brick stitch so your beading comes to a point at the top of the earring. Watch the video “Seed Beading 101: How to Make a Brick Stitch” for reference.
Thread a Crystal Passions® 8mm light Siam love bead onto a 1.5-inch 24-gauge silver-plated eye pin. Finish the eye pin with a simple loop.
Attach the drop created in Step 2 to the beaded part of the earring on the bottom and to an 18mm angular stardust ball fishhook ear wire on the top.
