Q.
Does the color wear off of the niobium jump rings?
- Anita
A.
An anodized finish on aluminum, niobium or titanium may wear over time similar to gold-, silver-filled, plated findings and wire. The wear will be totally dependent upon "where" the anodized metal is used and worn.
Anodizing is an electrochemical process that creates a thin, uniform density and thickness of an oxide film on specific metals. The process gives metal a range of beautiful colors, as well as adds strength, especially in the case of aluminum.
Niobium is hypoallergenic which makes it an ideal product to use in any jewelry fabrication.
