Make a full-size diagram of the necklace (see full picture of image at top of page), enlarging it to the desired size. Trace the design on to the fabric. Glue the cabochons in the marked places. Let the glue dry. Work a basic row of the seed beads around the cabochon (Fig. 1), using an even number of seed beads. When the row is finished go through all the seed beads, pulling tightly on the thread. See Fig. 2 for beading the cabochons.
Sew the crystals onto the marked places (Fig. 3). Embroider all crystals in silver metalized seed beads (Fig. 1). Firstly embroider a row of size 11/0 seed beads, and then sew a row of size 8/0 seed beads. Sew the beads, bead-leaves and bead-flowers according to Fig. 4. Now fill in the free space using all kinds of beads and seed beads, as shown in the photograph.
Trim away all the excess fabric close to the last bead row. Glue a piece of leather from the wrong side. Work the basic edge row (Fig. 5).
For the necklace ropes, attach strings of beads picked up in a random order to the ends of the necklace. Try the necklace on to know whether you are happy with the length of the ropes and attach a clasp.
