Dentalium shells (also called tusk shells) have been used for hundreds of years as currency and decoration for traditional clothing and Western designs. They are typically white and shaped like elephant tusks.
This is a random mix of sizes, ranging approximately from 1/2" to 2" long, with hole sizes varying between 0.2mm on one end up to 2mm on the other. Please note that some shells may not have second smaller hole. A 1-ounce package can contain between 225 to 255 pieces, approximately 90% are usable.
Since shell is a natural material, shape, color and size will vary.
