Instructions
Cut a 60-inch length of Purely Silk™ size FFF gold thread.
Wrap the thread around a 2-inch square of cardboard.
Cut a 6-inch length of Purely Silk size FFF gold thread. Wrap this around the thread on one side of the the 2-inch square of cardboard and tie two surgeon’s knots to secure it. Then cut the threads wrapped around the cardboard on the side opposite the knot. This will form the tassel. Another option would be to use a tassel maker.
Open one end of a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated eye pin. Insert some of the threads in the top of the tassel into the loop, then close the loop securely.
String an 11x10mm gold-plated long filigree bead cap onto the eye pin. Slide it down over the knot in the tassel snugly.
Finish the eye pin with a wrapped loop.
Cut and trim the threads to clean up the tassel.
Cut an 84-inch length of Purely Silk size F gold thread. Put a bead stopper on one end.
String on your choice of 8mm round gemstone beads and one TierraCast® 10x9mm gold-plated guru bead. To replicate the pattern in the image, string on a pattern of 108 fire crackle agate, African “jade” and yellow calcite beads, with the guru bead at the center.
Secure the thread with several surgeon’s knots. Add a drop of G-S Hypo Cement® adhesive to the knots. Let the adhesive dry completely.
Using a 4mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach the wrapped loop at the top of the tassel to the loop on the guru bead. Close the jump ring securely.
