Instructions
Earrings #1
Cut off one quarter of a bar of Sculpey® PREMO ecru polymer clay.
Roll the clay out so it is about 2mm thick. Then cut out two hearts with a polymer clay cutter.
Using a smaller cutter, cut a smaller heart from the center of each polymer clay heart.
Using a toothbrush and toothpick, create texture on the surface of the polymer clay hearts.
Using a toothpick, make a hole in the top of each polymer clay heart.
Dust the polymer clay hearts with gold and brown chalk pastels for a “baked” look.
Bake the polymer clay hearts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Let them cool completely.
Dust the polymer clay hearts with white chalk pastel for a “glazed” look.
Apply Sculpey acrylic emulsion to the polymer clay hearts.
Mix Mod Podge® 2-part epoxy resin and red chalk pastel dust, then fill the open centers of the polymer clay hearts. Let the resin dry for 24 hours.
Thread an 8mm garnet red Czech fire-polished glass round bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated eye pin. Finish with a simple loop.
Using a 9mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach a polymer clay heart to the link created in Step 10.
Attach the other end of the link to an 18mm 22-gauge gold-plated angular fishhook ear wire.
Repeat Steps 10 – 12 for the second earring.
Earring #2
Cut off one quarter of a bar of Sculpey® PREMO ecru polymer clay.
Roll the clay out so it is about 2mm thick. Then cut out two hearts with a polymer clay cutter.
Using a toothbrush and toothpick, create texture on the surface of the polymer clay hearts.
Using a toothpick, make a hole in the top and bottom of each polymer clay heart.
Dust the polymer clay hearts with gold and brown chalk pastels for a “baked” look.
Roll extremely thin snakes from Sculpey Soufflé™ French Pink, Sculpey Soufflé cherry pie and Sculpey PREMO blush polymer clay.
Cut the polymer clay snakes into tiny pieces so they look like sprinkles.
Mix clear Liquid Sculpey with pink chalk pastel dust to create the “frosting.”
Apply the pink Liquid Sculpey to the polymer clay hearts to “frost” the cookies. Then, before the “frosting” dries, apply the sprinkles.
Bake the polymer clay hearts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Let them cool completely.
Apply Sculpey acrylic emulsion to the polymer clay hearts.
Thread an 8mm light rose AB Czech fire-polished glass round bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated eye pin. Finish with a simple loop.
Using a 9mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach the top of a polymer clay heart to the link created in Step 12.
Attach the other end of the link to an 18mm 22-gauge gold-plated angular fishhook ear wire.
Thread a 6mm light rose AB Czech fire-polished glass round bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish with a simple loop.
Using a 9mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach the drop created in Step 15 to the bottom of a polymer clay heart.
Repeat Steps 12 – 16 for the second earring.
Earring #3
Cut off one quarter of a bar of Sculpey® Soufflé cherry pie polymer clay.
Roll the clay out so it is about 2mm thick. Then cut out two hearts with a polymer clay cutter.
Make a thin snake of Sculpey PREMO white polymer clay, then roll it so it’s a flat ribbon.
Outline the hearts with the “ribbon” you made in Step 3, making indentations with the end of an awl.
Using Sculpey PREMO raw sienna, ecru, blush and burnt umber polymer clay, create the “chocolates” to go on the hearts.
Using your choice of colors of Liquid Sculpey, decorate the chocolates and attach them to the polymer clay hearts.
Bake the polymer clay hearts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Let them cool completely.
Apply Sculpey acrylic emulsion to the polymer clay hearts.
Thread a 9x5mm pale gold Czech fire-polished glass faceted rondelle bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated eye pin. Finish with a simple loop.
Using a 9mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach the top of a polymer clay heart to the link created in Step 9.
Attach the other end of the link to an 18mm 22-gauge gold-plated angular fishhook ear wire.
Thread a 9x5mm pale gold Czech fire-polished glass faceted rondelle bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish with a wrapped loop.
Using a 9mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach the drop created in Step 12 to the bottom of a polymer clay heart.
Repeat Steps 9 – 13 for the second earring.
