- Bead, glass rhinestone and silver-plated brass, red, 6x3mm rondelle

- Eye pin, silver-plated brass, 1 inch, 21 gauge
- Jump ring, silver-plated brass, 4mm round, 2.4mm inside diameter, 20 gauge
- Mica powder, sparkle gold (0051-002)
- Pearl white, Crystal Passions® 3mm round 5810
- Pearl white, Crystal Passions® 4x3mm rice 5824
- Pearl white, Crystal Passions® 11x8mm pear 5821
- Pearl white, Crystal Passions® 6mm round 5810
- Polymer clay, Sculpey® PREMO, orange
- Polymer clay, Sculpey® Soufflé™, jade
- Wire, Zebra Wire™, silver-plated copper, round, 24 gauge
Instructions
Making the Carrots:
Step 1
Roll two small balls of orange Sculpey® PREMO polymer clay, then roll them at an angle so they taper at one end. Make horizontal lines in the carrot with a craft knife.
Step 2
Roll a small piece of jade Sculpey Soufflé™ polymer clay into a very thin snake. Cut six 1/16 inch pieces for the carrot stem and attach three to each orange carrot.
Step 3
Using a toothpick, make an indentation in the top of each carrot for the eye pin.
Step 4
Dust the carrots very lightly with sparkle gold mica powder.
Step 5
Bake at 275 degrees Fahrenheit (135 degrees Celsius) for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Cut a 1-inch 21-gauge silver-plated eye pin to fit the hole in the top of the earring and adhere with 2-part epoxy. Repeat for second carrot. Let the epoxy dry.
Earring Assembly:
Step 1
Cut two 8-inch lengths of 24-gauge Zebra Wire™ silver-plated round wire.
Step 2
Use a bead reamer to prepare the holes of an 11x8mm Crystal Passions® white pear pearl and a 6mm Crystal Passions white round pearl.
Step 3
Slide a 3mm Crystal Passions white round pearl onto the wire, positioning it in the center of the wire. Bend the wire and twist the pearl a few times, so that the wire is snug against the pearl.
Step 4
String the following onto the doubled wire:
- One 11x8mm Crystal Passions white pear pearl
- One 6x3mm red rhinestone rondelle bead
- One 6mm Crystal Passions white round pearl
Step 5
Separate the two ends of the wire. Then string two 4x3mm Crystal Passions white rice pearls onto each wire to create the ears. Take one of the wires and make a 90-degree bend at the base of the last rice pearl. Make a wrapped loop to finish the wire. Repeat for the other wire.
Step 6
Using a 4mm 20-gauge silver-plated round jump ring, attach one of the “ears” to a 6mm silver-plated hollow fancy heart earstud. Using another 4mm 20-gauge silver-plated round jump ring, attach the “carrot” (instructions below) to the other “ear." Make a slight bend in the “carrot” ear. Attach a 5.5x5mm silver-plated barrel earnut.
Step 7
Repeat Steps 2 – 6 for the second earring.
