Bib-Style Necklace and Earring Set with Swarovski® Crystals and Silver-Plated Pewter Beads

Necklace

STEP 1
Cut the following:
  • Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire
    • 21 6-inch lengths
    • Four 8-inch lengths
    • Two 17-inch lengths
  • French wire
    • Two 1/2 inch lengths
Pass one 4mm jumpring through another 4mm jumpring then close. Attach another 4mm jumpring to the last jumpring added. Repeat to create an extender chain of 15 jumprings.

First and Second Rows

STEP 2
String onto one 17-inch length of beading wire: one crimp and one length of French wire. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the French wire leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a crimp cover.

Attach one lobster claw clasp to the French wire loop using one 4mm jumpring.
STEP 3
String onto the beading wire: 14 Siam 6mm rounds and one crimp. Insert one end of the second 17-inch length of beading wire through the previous crimp. Crimp then attach a crimp cover.

Continue to string onto both beading wires:
  • Three Siam 6mm rounds
  • One light Siam 6mm bicone
  • One crimp (crimp then attach a crimp cover)
  • One Siam 6mm round
STEP 4
Separate the lengths of beading wire then string onto one length:
  • Two Siam 3mm bicones
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • Five sets of:
    • One Siam 6mm round
    • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 4mm bicone
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One Siam 4mm bicone
  • Five sets of:
    • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
    • One Siam 6mm round
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • Two Siam 3mm bicones
Place a Bead Stopper™ on the end of the beading wire.
STEP 5
String the following onto the second length of beading wire:
  • Three Siam 3mm bicones
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • Two sets of:
    • One crystal AB SS30 rose montees
    • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
    • One crystal clear SS30 rose montees
    • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
STEP 6
Continue to string one crystal clear SS30 rose montees then repeat the sequence in Step 5 in the opposite direction.

Remove the Bead Stopper from the first strand then string onto both lengths of beading wire one Siam 6mm round and one crimp. Place both strands on a flat surface and ensure both strands lay properly (the row with the first Siam montees on top). Crimp them trim excess wire from the longer end. Attach a crimp cover.

Continue to string onto the beading wire one light Siam 6mm bicone, three Siam 6mm rounds and one crimp. Crimp then attach a crimp cover. Continue to string 14 Siam 6mm rounds then repeat Step 2 to secure the strand.

Attach the extender chain to the French wire loop.

Vertical Strands

STEP 7
String one crimp onto the tip of one 6-inch length of beading wire. Crimp then finish with a crimp cover. Pass the wire vertically through the first set of light Siam and crystal AB montees from the first and second rows respectively.

Continue to string onto the beading wire:
  • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
  • One crystal clear SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One crystal AB SS16 rose montees
  • One Siam SS16 rose montees
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 4mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
Place a Bead Stopper on the end, leaving the remaining length of wire empty.
STEP 8
Repeat Step 7 five more times stringing through each set of light Siam and crystal AB SS30 montees from the first and second rows.
STEP 9
String one crimp onto the tip of one 6-inch length of beading wire. Crimp then finish with a crimp cover. Pass the wire vertically through the first set of light Siam SS30 montees and the crystal clear SS30 montees from the first and second rows.

Continue to string onto the beading wire:
  • One crystal AB SS30 rose montees
  • One light Siam SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One crystal AB SS16 rose montees
  • One Siam SS16 rose montees
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 4mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
Place a Bead Stopper on the end, leaving the remaining length of wire empty.
STEP 10
Repeat Step 9 four more times stringing through each set of light Siam SS30 rose montees and crystal clear SS30 montees.
STEP 11
Place a crimp on the tip of one 6-inch length of beading wire. Crimp then finish with a crimp cover. Pass the wire through the top of the first light Siam SS30 montees from the second row.

String onto the wire:
  • One crystal AB SS16 rose montees
  • One Siam 3mm bicone (Strands 2, 5, 6 and 9 ONLY)
  • One crystal AB SS30 rose montees
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • Two Siam SS16 rose montees
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 4mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One Siam 6mm round
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
Place a Bead Stopper after the last bead, leaving the remaining length of wire open.
STEP 12
Repeat Step 11 nine more times passing each strand through the top of each open light Siam SS30 bead from the second row.

Third Row

STEP 13
Place a crimp on the tip of one 8-inch length of beading wire. Crimp then finish with a crimp cover.
STEP 14
Pass the beading wire horizontally through the third montees (light Siam SS30) from the first vertical strand then string a Siam 3mm bicone. Repeat this sequence using the next seven vertical strands.

Continue this stringing sequence using Siam 4mm bicones between the next two montees on the vertical strands.

Continue to pass the beading wire through the center vertical strand then repeat the above stringing sequence, creating a mirror image of the first half of the strand.

Place a Bead Stopper on the end of the strand.

Fourth Row

STEP 15
Repeat Step 13 to begin the fourth row.

Pass the beading wire horizontally through the fourth montees from the first vertical strand and continue through the next montees in the next vertical strand.

Continue to string onto the beading wire:
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • The next three vertical strands
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • The next vertical strand
  • Six sets of:
    • The next vertical strand
    • One crystal AB 4mm bicone
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • The next four vertical strands
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • The next three vertical strands
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • The next two vertical strands
Place a Bead Stopper on the end of the strand.

Fifth and Sixth Rows

STEP 16
Repeat Step 13 to begin the fifth row.

Pass the beading wire horizontally through the fifth montees in the first vertical strand.
STEP 17
String onto the beading wire:
  • Five sets of:
    • One Siam 4mm bicone
    • The montees in the next vertical strand
  • Four sets of:
    • One Siam 3mm bicone
    • One Siam 4mm bicone
    • The next vertical strand
  • One Siam 3mm bicone
  • One Siam 4mm bicone
Continue to string onto the beading wire the montees in the center vertical strand then repeat the stringing sequence in the opposite direction to create a mirror image of the first half of the strand.

Place a Bead Stopper on the end of the beading wire.
STEP 18
Repeat 13 to begin the sixth row.

Pass the beading wire through the sixth montees from the first vertical strand, then repeat Step 17 to create the sixth row.

Vertical Drops

STEP 19
Remove the Bead Stopper from the center vertical strand.

String onto the beading wire:
  • Three sets of:
    • Five crystal AB 4mm bicones
    • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 4mm bicone
  • One crimp
Crimp, then finish with a crimp cover.
STEP 20
Remove the Bead Stopper from one strand to one side of the center vertical strand then string the following:
  • Three sets of:
    • Five crystal AB 4mm bicones
    • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
  • One crimp
  • Replace the Bead Stopper
Repeat this sequence to string the next three strands.
STEP 21
For the remaining six vertical strands, repeat the stringing sequence from Step 20, gradually removing one crystal AB 4mm bicone from the last set until the outermost vertical strand contains:
  • Two sets of:
    • Five crystal AB 4mm bicones
    • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
  • One crimp
  • One Bead Stopper
STEP 22
Repeat Steps 20 and 21 on the opposite side of the center vertical strand.
STEP 23
Place the design on a flat surface. Ensure each horizontal and vertical strand is properly aligned.

Remove the Bead Stopper on the end of the center vertical strand. Crimp then trim excess wire. Finish with a crimp cover.

Repeat to secure each vertical strand and each loose horizontal row.

Earrings

STEP 1
Cut two 3-inch lengths of Accu-Flex professional-quality beading wire and two 1/2 inch lengths of French wire.
STEP 2
String onto one length of beading wire: one crimp and one length of French wire. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the French wire leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a crimp cover.
STEP 3
String onto the beading wire:
  • One Siam 6mm bicone
  • One light Siam 4mm round
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
  • Two sets of:
    • Five crystal AB 4mm bicones
    • One crystal AB 3mm bicone
  • One crystal AB 6mm round
  • One crimp
Crimp then trim excess wire. Finish with a crimp cover.
STEP 4
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to create a second crystal drop.
STEP 5
Pass one 6mm jumpring through the French wire of one crystal drop and two adjacent holes on one light Siam SS30 rose montees then close.

Pass one 6mm jumpring through the opposite two holes on the same rose montees bead and one earwire then close.

Repeat to create a second earring.
