Drop Necklace with Blue Apatite and Crystal

Cut a 20-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality 0.24-inch diameter 49-strand Dijon gold beading wire.

String the following onto the beading wire. 

• Two Preciosa 3mm jonquil AB bicone beads
• 100 4x2.5mm-4x2.7mm blue apatite faceted rondelle beads
• Two Preciosa 3mm jonquil AB bicone beads

Center the beads so there is an equal amount of wire coming out from each side of the beaded section.

String onto the beading wire: one 2.5mm gold-plated corrugated round crimp and one Accu-Guard™ 4mm gold-plated wire guard. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard, leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp, then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a 4mm gold-plated round crimp cover.

Attach a 9x4mm gold-plated lobster-claw clasp to the loop at each end of the beading wire.

Thread the following onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin:

• One Crystal Passions® 8x6mm light topaz rondelle bead
• One Crystal Passions 6x4mm blue zircon rondelle bead
• One Crystal Passions 8x6mm light topaz rondelle bead

Finish the drop with a simple loop. Trim any excess wire.

Repeat to make a second drop.

Thread the following onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin:

• One Crystal Passions 8x6mm blue zircon rondelle bead
• One Crystal Passions® 6x4mm light topaz rondelle bead
• One Crystal Passions 8x6mm blue zircon rondelle bead

Finish the drop with a simple loop. Trim any excess wire.

Repeat to make a second drop.

Attach an 11.5x5mm gold-plated textured ice-pick bail to a 16x13.5mm blue zircon majestic pendant drop.

Using flush-cutting pliers, cut a 3.5-inch length of gold-finished 4mm long-and-short oval chain.

Using a 4mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring, attach the drops created in Steps 5, 6 and 7 to the chain, placing the large drop with the bail at the center and spacing the smaller drops on the sides.

Attach a 5mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring to each end of the chain.

Attach the ends of the chain to the beaded beading wire using the attached jump rings and lobster claw clasps.

To create an alternate center chain, begin by stringing a 8mm mosaic “turquoise” round bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish the head pin with a wrapped loop. Trim any excess wire.

Repeat to make a total of four mosaic “turquoise” drops.

String a 6mm honey tigereye round bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish with a wrapped loop. Trim any excess wire.

Repeat to make another tigereye drop.

String a faceted agate medium nugget bead onto a 2-inch 21-gauge gold-plated head pin. Finish with a wrapped loop. Trim any excess wire.

Cut a 3.5-inch length of gold-finished 4mm flat cable chain.

Using 4mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump rings, attach the drops created in Steps 12, 13 and 14 to the cable chain.

Attach a 5mm 20-gauge gold-plated round jump ring to each end of the chain. Style the necklace using either the first chain or the alternate chain for versatile style.
